Our Process
How We Work, and Why It Matters
Every great project begins with alignment. Before anything is drawn or designed, we start with a consultation to see if we’re a true fit—creatively, energetically, and in terms of vision. The best results come when both sides are invested, present, and open to the process. What we put in is what we get out.
1. Initial Consultation
Our first conversation is where we explore your ideas, your style, your expectations, and your level of creativity. This is also where we feel out whether we’re aligned in communication, flow, and design perspective. If it feels right for both of us, we move forward.
2. Vision, Function, and Early Concept
Once we agree to work together, we schedule a deeper meeting to begin shaping the functionality of the space(s).
This stage may include:
-
Early drawings and sketches
-
Material exploration
-
Discussing layout possibilities
-
Understanding what inspires you
-
Clarifying what you want to feel when the space is complete
This is where the ideas start to come alive.
3. Builders, Teams & Collaboration
From here, we discuss who will be bringing the vision into reality.
You have options:
-
Use your own builders or contractors, or
-
Choose from the trusted professionals I’ve worked with and grown to love over many years
Either way, I help ensure that everyone involved understands the vision, the materials, and the level of detail required.
4. Defining My Role
Not every client needs the same level of involvement, and that’s perfectly fine.
We will discuss:
-
How much or how little guidance you want
-
Whether you need ongoing design presence
-
If you want me involved during construction
-
If you prefer check-ins at key milestones
Here’s the truth:
The more knowledgeable you are about construction, the less hands-on support you may need.
But through experience, I’ve learned that projects run smoother—with fewer mistakes, fewer delays, and far less stress—when I’m involved from the very beginning through the very end.
I bridge communication between design and construction, helping translate vision into real-world execution. And that alone can save enormous time, money, and frustration.
5. Moving Forward Together
Once we have a plan, we create a clear next step—whether it’s detailed drawings, material samples, a cost breakdown, construction scheduling, or a project timeline.
This is also where clients begin to feel the shift from “idea” to “creation.”
Throughout the entire process, I stay connected, communicative, and present. Questions always come up—materials, layout adjustments, flow, timing, budget, building realities—and having someone knowledgeable walking with you through those decisions is incredibly valuable.
The Heart of Our Process
My goal is simple:
To help you create a space that feels alive, intentional, functional, and deeply connected to who you are.
When we work together with presence, patience, and creativity, the process becomes just as meaningful as the final result.
