About Designs with Jake

I grew up in the Bay Area of California, learning construction at the highest level—where precision, craftsmanship, and excellence were the standard. Every detail mattered. I went on to run a high-end construction company for over 18 years, building complex, luxury projects where everything needed to be done right the first time.

After many years in the field, I chose to step back for a season to reconnect with myself, reflect, and realign with what truly lit me up. While I still deeply love building and creating, I found myself called more toward the creation and design side rather than the physical labor itself.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky to meet incredible craftsmen and builders who now bring my visions to life. For a long time, I was both the designer and the builder—until I realized that creation could stand on its own. I don’t need to physically build every project to be deeply involved in it. I can design, lead the vision, and collaborate with skilled teams who execute at the highest level.

This shift allows me to honor my body, protect my energy, and stay fully connected to what I love most—designing, creating, and witnessing ideas turn into living, breathing spaces. I still get to dream. I still get to create. And now, I get to watch visions come to life in a way that feels sustainable, intentional, and aligned.
